Rawdat Al-Misk — روضة المسك, the meadow of musk — began with a simple frustration: real attar oil is difficult to find, and impossible to trust when you do. So we built a house where every vial is a concentrated oil, laid down in small batches and sold soon after it is poured.

No alcohol, no carrier oil to stretch the blend, no water. Just the oil — oud woods, saffron, bakhoor, rose absolute and real musk — worn close to the skin the way it has been worn in Arabia, India and the Indian Ocean for centuries.

The Craft

How to wear pure oil

Attar behaves differently from an alcohol spray. Learn the three rules and a 3 ml vial will outlast a 100 ml bottle.

Apply to pulse points

Wrists, behind the ears, the base of the throat, the inner elbow. Body heat lifts the oil slowly, which is why the blend unfolds over hours instead of minutes.

Never rub it in

Rubbing crushes the fragile top notes — the saffron, the fruit, the fresh rose — and pushes the oil straight to its base. Press, then leave it alone.

Start with a trace

One touch is enough for most rooms. Pure oil can be layered, never removed — so build slowly, and reapply to the same spot only if you want more.

Frequently asked

Is it really 100% oil with no alcohol?

Yes. Every Rawdat Al-Misk attar is a pure oil concentrate — no alcohol, no carrier oil dilution, no fillers. That is why a 3 ml vial lasts as long as a full bottle of alcohol spray.

How do I apply a pure attar oil?

Dab a tiny amount on your pulse points — wrists, behind the ears, the base of the throat. Warmth releases the blend slowly. Never rub: rubbing crushes the top notes and shortens the wear.

How long does it last on the skin?

Six to ten hours on most skins, and considerably longer on fabric — often days. Store your vial away from direct sunlight and heat so the oils stay intact.

Will it stain my clothes?

Pure oils can leave a trace on very light or delicate fabrics such as silk. We recommend applying to skin, or to darker cotton and knits, and letting it dry before dressing.

How do I place an order?

Choose your size, add it to the tray, and send the tray to us on WhatsApp. We confirm stock, delivery and payment with you personally before dispatch — you are never paying a faceless checkout.

What does delivery cost?

Pickup on the island is free to arrange. Delivery by post or courier anywhere in Mauritius is a flat Rs 150 per parcel. Off-island shipping can be quoted on request.

Are the Vault blends coming back?

The Vault Collection is poured in limited quantities. Once an 8 ml archive is gone we may not restock it — the easiest way to hear about a new pour is to message us on WhatsApp or Instagram.

Which bottle size should I start with?

The 3 ml slim vial is the trial size and the cheapest way to discover a blend — it lasts roughly two to three weeks of daily wear. The 5 ml amber roll-on is the everyday favourite, and the 8 ml faceted flacon is the house presentation, used for the Sultan line and the Vault.

Is it suitable for gifting?

Very. Every order is packed as a gift by default, and we can write a note for the recipient. Tell us on WhatsApp and we will arrange it.
